Filling Breakfasts

I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions of nice filling breakfasts I can give to my kids in the morning to stop them getting grumpy through the morning.
I usually give them porridge with fruit and sometimes toast as well, but this doesn't always seem to give them all the energy they need. Any suggestions?

As crazy as it sounds, when I heat a can of chick peas/garbanzo beans for breakfast, it fills me up, keeps my blood sugar steady and holds me for several hours.

Maybe for children, you can get creative with spices or how you prepare the beans.

I have found that an omelet works perfect. I usually put tomatoes and cheese on it. I really like it with Pico de galo (tomatoes and onions) topped w/ guacamole is really good! And then I have a half piece of whole grain toast. That is filling:)
